In the 9th century BC Gao Yao’s successor, Feizi, was given rule over the Qin dynasty. The area of Qin was known as the state of Qin during the rule of Zhou dynasty. In 897 BC, the area was known for the raising and breeding of horses. One of Feizi's descendants, Duke Zhuang was a descendant of Feizi and was favored by one of the Zhou dynasty’s kings. As a reward he was sent on a war expedition. This was the time when he established Qin.
Although the ‘State of Qin’ sent a military expedition in 672 BC, it did not become a part of serious invasions owing to threatening neighbors. Later on, however, these tribes had been conquered (fourth century BC) and this was the time for the rise of the Qin Dynasty.
